Glass tank as ATO

Rather than Store two large brute containers, what do you think of a glass tank, 20 to 29 gallon, as an Ato reserve? I can easily ft either size under my stand, where as the brutes are bigger and take up more space


The new tank is going to be a 120 if that factors in at all

sure why not.. just make a glass or acrylic top to keep dust out

That's not problem at all, if not better than a plastic ATO. Another cool idea that I've seen lots of people do is a glass tank ATO, and a kalkwasser setup. It works out great.

I've used a 10g glass tank as my ATO for years on my 120. I fill it once every 5 days or so...3 float switches and a Minijet 404 pump..good to go

I've also kept a 10g tank in my stand as the ATO for my 155. Put a glass top on it not only to keep dust out of it, but to keep my cats from drinking the water.

3 float switches? fail safe?

I just ordered 2 float switches, would love to hear about your 3 fail safe design.

You can do 3 - one for high water level as fail safe, one for low water level to activate the pump to fill and one in the reservoir so the pump doesn't run dry.
