Great history there and I'm sad it has to close.Never needed a new stadium in the first place but the new stadium should be sweet.Good luck in the new digs.

I'm with you Nelson, just watched the whole celebration...it was really great but I like tradition ...the old stadium wasn't THAT drecrepit yet...lol

Hopefully they will bring the World Series back to the Bronx next year!! :spin:

Goodbye yankee stadium. I will miss the house that Ruth built. What a sad day for Yankee fans. :-(

I got to say goodbye to the stadium in person last night, what a wonderful ceremony. I really like the look of the new stadium, I think it will be sweet.

Same dimensions. Not sure about the black seats, that's a good question. The new stadium has fewer seats, so it's possible the black seats are still there.

well a special salute to a great stadium. always will be a special part in me with that place. it really didnt need to go. but hey its economics. regarding the black seats- by rule in MLB - a section directly behind the pitcher must be 1 shade of color and must not allow any fans in any stadium to sit there becuase of obstruction to the batters eye. from what i understand the yanks will have a 1 way glass (black) in dead center. on the other side of the glass is where a resteraunt will be to see the game and dine. i wish i could afford the new prices for the new stadim but i no longer can.

I'll do what i always do, buy tickets off ebay for at least 1 game. Thats how I got the tix for last night, and $325 for the pair was well worth it. I was 4 rows from the top of the stadium.......but I was there.

last game ever in Yankee Stadium, got to spend 12 hours at the stadium and walk on the field. I also caught a ball during bp. I would spend it again if I had the chance. For the final game in Shea Stadium, I'm willing to pay $3.25.
