Hope i posted this in the right place. I was wondering if i had enough lighting to keep clams. My lighting is:

72'' Current USA Outer Orbit lighting system
3x150w MH (Double ended)
4x96w PC's
16 moon lights

Also what kind of flow should the clam be in? And what do i need to add to the water for them to feed and be happy? Any info at all on this will be GREAT.

If I can add my $.02 here. You haven't provided enough information. 150w MH's are adequate for a shallow tank. You didn't mention how deep and far away from the lights the clams are located.

If you have a 24" deep tank and the clams are on the sandbed, I'd have to disagree and say 150w's is not sufficient.

Please provide more info and we can advise appropriately.

That's a deep tank. I would keep the clams up very high on the rockwork if you decide to go with a clam. If you want them on the sandbed (preferred) then I'd upgrade your lighting to 250w's.

Having clams up high is sort of like having a Ferrari and keeping it on a lift to look at it. All the niceties of a clam are seen looking down from the top.

tttthhhhhhhaaaaaaatttttt's all folks!
