Hi Everyone,

I am having an outbreak of bubble algae. I have been reading that Emerald crabs will eat it. I have purchased 5 of them but they seem faily small. thebodies are about an 1/2 inch wide. It is a 90 gallon tank. Should I get more than 5. So far they are picking at the rocks but not eating any bubble algae.
All advice Welcome.

Thanks
Alan

I had a small break out in my 72g bowfront - I bought one Emerald crab and allowed him to do the work. it took him 3-4 weeks. at the same time, carbon, phosban, chemi pure elite and much much much less feeding. I had a new light so I knew lighting was not the issue but my overfeeding and too many nutrients in the tank were the problem. so I fixed the issue and bubble algae went away.
