Hello all,
New to mushrooms.
Need some help with green hairy mushrooms. I purchased a rock from localreef store. The rock has 6 hairy mushrooms and about a 50 cent size Zoa colony, and 6 or so small feathers. The Zoa's and the feathers seem to be doing fine andthe Zoa colony is growing, but the hairy mushroom are not expanding during theday. I started with them in the bottom of the 16gallon high tank and I havesince moved them up. I have them in a location that has medium to low watermovement. I have 6 T5 18watt bulbs on for 12 hours 2x12k, 3x420nm, 1x460nm. Ihave a SeaClone skimmer. Ammonia, nitrates and nitrites are 0. I do supplementswith Kent Coral-vite and I feed phyto feast as per the store owner that sold me the mushrooms. Should I be feeding the mushroomsdirectly? Is my lighting a problem in anyway? Should I have more 12ks?
I will add images when i can post them.
I did change out one of the 420s today with another 12k in the middle of writing this. All bulbs were replaced October 11 2012. I always write the date on the bulbs when I put it in.
The Coralline algae was introduced as dust from a rock that I crushed and added to the tank. It has grown well and even survived the 7 days with out power back in March of 2012. The live rock and the blue wrasse, and the pincushion urchin were my only survivors.
