They do move a lot of water. My tank is pretty wide open, it's a Fish only tank, and I have to dial it down otherwise it was too strong for the fish. The biggest problem that I had was when I cleaned it, I couldn't get one of the sides to work again, I had to take it apart a couple of times afterward to get it working again.
