Hamilton 10000k bulb, pulse start needed?

The ham 10kK bulb says "german made" but I'm wondering if you need a pulse (or electronic) ballast to fire it. At marine depot it says regular magnetic, pulse or electronic ballast, but it also says that about the Ushio bulbs and those are pulse start bulbs.

So just curious if this is basically an ushio bulb made for the hamiliton people.

All pulse start bulbs (that I'm aware of) can be fired and sustained by probe start. The vice versa is not true. That said, pulse start bulbs usually perform at their peak efficiency when you use a true pulse start ballast.

I'm not sure who makes Hamilton's bulbs these days. I hear things ranging from Ushio to AB to other european mfg.
