Hamilton bulbs?

Guys I need some feed back on these lamps/fixtures. I just received a hamilton tech. fixture:

2 x 175w SE 10k
2 x 110w VHO

The bulbs are burnt out though. I'm thinking about replacing the bulbs but just wanted some feed back on these bulbs. And also wondering if it is either a good thing to get another brand bulbs in this fixture or stick with hamilton all the way. BTW its a electronic ballast. Those of you who have this fixture or running these bulbs please let me know how they do for you and how is the growth and color on your corals.

Hello Will. I'm currently running two 250W 14K Hamilton Bulbs in my reef and can't complain. I have seen a lot of growth on the little frags I have in my 120G.

I'm probably going to go with 10k or 14k. And a little bit of both color and growth

Hamilton's look great but 1 of the weakest bulbs on the market.
Yea, you can use different bulb brands on that ballast.


You mentioned the fixture is SE. Phoenix bulbs are DE.
