on mythbusters they used vodka for a jellyfish sting. I wonder if it would work for coral as well. I'd personally go with rubbing alcohol instead of my grey goose...
Just wash the area well with soap and water, and keep it clean.
umh, wonder what hubby would say about my using his Grey Goose?
What I find weird, and interesting at the same time is that I have handled, and brushed by this very same corals numerous times, and it had never stung me before. And I have to stick my arm next to it again last night to fix a fallen coral that I could not place back in it's spot with the tongs, and it did not sting me again.
Any thoughts?
I noticed I dont always get stung either but the last sting from my frog spawn was on a fresh cut it ended up getting infected and lasted almost 2 weeks
emmanuel, I think I had been stung the day before on the same arm, and that is why it hurt so much the following day. My arm had iched the night before, and I commented to my husband that I thought the dogs had fleas - time to re-apply the K-9 Advantix.lol So when it got me the second time around on the very same place it really burned like heck! And it did get infected a little, but a couple of applications of good old neosporine took care of that. So now I just have the bumps with the scaps on the few that did manage to get infected, and still inching every now and again...
I think as reefers we all need to have an emergency medical kit on stand by by our tanks at all times.
