My buddy just set his tank up. I gave him my old precision marine overflow external box. The big one where it has 3 layers in it to put media in it as well. It has dual bulk heads on the bottom on it. It's only a 75g tank so we blocked one bulkhead. The issue we have is it's being loud. Where the bulk head is, the top of it had a rubber pipe fitting. When the water flows down the bulk head, it obviously sucks air as well. So it's making that loud annoying sound. If i put any pipes on it with an angle facing whatever direction on it, it does not stop. What do you think would shut this the hell up? He currently has a t pipe on it which is a bit quieter, but when the water level flows up and down in the overflow and it goes to the t, it still sucks in air and water and make the flush sound...
I know some have that circle piece with a thin plastic straw in it to stop, but this one does not have it.
