I have a Quiet One 3000 that I'm using as a return pump on my 75G. I am using 3/4" vinyl tubing as a return line with a ball valve for controlling flow.

How low can you control the flow on a Quiet One 3000? I'm test-running my system, and it seems like the water level in the compartment where the return pump is dips to a marginally low level.

I know that it is an overflow issue too. I have an HOB overflow (Hurricane Quietflo) that is rated for up to 600gph.

You Have To Adjust And Restict It Depending On What Your Drain Amount Is Turn It Down And Turn It Up Till You Have A Level Amount At The Drain 3\4 Is What Works For Me On Dialing It Down

Strange, I have a Amiracle overflow box (also rated for 600gph) and I ran my Quiet One 3000 wide open (no ball valve) but I tee the output into two returns at each corner of my tank for additional flow. I use two of these and my water level in my sump is consistent (matched flow).

I agree with muntai, I would never restrict the flow from a return pump. I have a Q1 3000 as my return on my 40 gal & what I did was Tee off the return up to the tank with a ball valve & some vinyl tubing going back to the sump. This way, I can adjust flow without dampening the output of the pump.
