Help!! Can I split a pistol shrimp an a goby up?

So I have these guys and they are bonded. The pistol is a devil!!! He's killed a fire fish and an yashahasi so far. No idea what else but think most of my snails and some crabs. I need to get him out. Is it ok to break them up?

i dont see a problem with breaking them up.
and thanks i was looking to purchase a goby and shrimp, but no more.

The Randall island pistol shrimp is ok. He stays small enough. This guy got on the big side and he is a pain I. The ass. I love the Randall island goby I have but he can't come out until I get this other one out of the tank.
