Help With Lighting

Started A Reef Tank , Starting To Get Coral But Need To Now How Long I Should Leave My Lights On For. My Light Is 2x250w 10k Se With 2x 65w Cf Actinic Blue With One Fan Built In. Anyone Could Tell Me How Long And Do I Run Both Together?

Ideally you'd want to run for 10 to 12 hours but anything over 7 should be good. The actinic would be a personal choice during the day but an hour before and after the halides would give a nice dusk/dawn look.

So I Can Run My Halides For 12 Hrs,are You Sure Because I Get Alot Of Alge Growing On The Glass?

jarrett you want to run your halides for no more then 5 hours. i would run the cf's (change them to vho or t5's actnic's) for about 11 hours. thats the ideal way

My Cf's Are (2) 65w Actinic Blue,should Change Them? I Run The Halides For 7 Hrs And The Actinic Blue For 5hrs Before The Halides Come One And 5hrs After The Halides Go Off,is This Right

I had my actnics come on at 3pm and shut off at 1am my halides came on at 6 30pm to 11 30 pm that's the way I liked it n it worked well. I would change them cfs to t5's its up 2 u

i run my t5 from 3:30 to 11:30pm (8 hrs) and the mh from 5 to 10:30pm (5.5 hrs).
