Can anyone explain why my calcium reading is so high. First time i came up with 580 i figured i did something wrong so i retested and came up with 500. This is the second time i got this reading. I have not added any calcium for a week or two and just did a huge water change with tropic mariane pro salt. Can it be the salt with such high calcium.

few issues I see here.
Your tests are inconsistant so it may be your test kit.
With a reliable test kit, you should test the freshly made saltwater and compare that to your tank. If the new saltwater is lower, its from you dosing, even if it was a week or two ago, you shouldn't dose if its already too high

I agree with the test kit being an issue. When i got the first reading so high i redid with a different test kit. Still kinda of high what the best test kit for testing calcium. I will test the fresh water to see if it that. Doubt it.

magnessium is important too with low mag levels calcium can not be trasported to the corals magnessium is the carrier of the calcium so if its too low calcium is not absorbed quickly or as fast as it can be whitch leaves u with high calcium levels mag levels between between 1200ppm -1400ppm give or take alittle
