What is the best hob filter i can use for a small 30 gall tank..looking to keep clownfish and seahorses..going to use 40lbs live sand and 20lbs live rock also..
First off, I will recommend against sea horses on a first time tank.....they require a lot of work, live food, and lower temperatures, and tanks catered specially to them
But rule of thumb on any filtration is the bigger the better
Thank you for the advice..However, Ive kept tanks before.. I just broke down my 65G and now im bored and want to do something, ive never used hob filters so i was curious which ones are good.
That's a different story, essentially the largest one you could fit/afford would be best and run carbon and maybe a mini fuge in it with no sponges etc, I'll look into which member on here I saw that actively breeds them.....he gives you lots of sources and plenty of help/information.....just make sure you read up on them they are hard to keep successfully
I ran a hob on an extra tank once. Pulled the biosponge out along with the carbon/poly packs. Then just filled the hob with LR rubble. It was with AquaTech hob (30/60).
