Hood Or Not to Hood

I was thinking of getting a bigger tank this tank does not have a hood on it the mh lights sit on the edge of the glass
what are the pros and cons for this and do mose people have a hood on their tank, I have a nano with a hood and it looks strange that this dont have a hood but the tank looks great....

Hood... I hate the light bleed and with a hood you don't have to worry about carpet surfers!

With MH a hood makes a chiller a necessacity. However with no hood, the water evaporation is crazy.

In my 54, with a combo of a 400 watt MH light and a fan, im going through some 5 gallons every day or two of top off
