I have a bunch of live rock that I am preparing for a tank set up and relocation of another tank that I know I will be reconfiguring. I have it in a Rubbermaid 100gallon container with heaters, power heads, filter sock and a protein skimmer. For the protein skimmer to function properly I had to lift it up in the container. A milk crate that I had laying around works perfect for this purpose, my only concern is toxin leaching from the milk crate into water and rock. There is no recycling triangle on the crate, if anyone has any input it would be appreciated.

You can see the crate under the skimmer.

I wouldn't worry about it doing any damage as it is a temporary situation.
There are many items we use in our tanks that are made of plastics..like acrylic tanks, canister filters,overflows... skimmers even (!). I don't claim to know what type of plastic these things are made of butclearly not all plastics are bad to use in our tanks and I would think a milk crate would likely be in the same category. I have had one in my pond (granted it is FW but I would think plastic leeching is plastic leeching..) for years & years and it has never affected the water.
