how do corals actually eat/feed

i used to feed certain coals in my tank individually using a coral feeder. now i just toss a small piece of my home made coral food and throw a piece in the tank.it consiss of mysis/garlic/squid/oyster feast/cyclopeez. i see the food spread thru out the tank(free floating).. does my coral feed this way or should i go back to target feeding?

feed only at night, much better time, you could even put you skimmer on a timer to shut down atfeeding time for 30-45 min.
