Check your parameters ... something is off in your tank for GHA to be growing and spreading the way you are describing. Post your results so that the community can help you better.

I just changed my phosban about 2 weeks ago. I have a 75 gallon tank and I use the entire 150 gram jar.
My tank is up about 2 and half years. the problem was my bought a yellow headed goby last month and he spit sand all over the tank and rocks. I think this is how this whole thing started.
It is not growing fast, it is just annoying.

checked phosphates-zero - I know this is not accurate it only checks inorganic phosphates.

Phosban is made to "Tumble" in the reactor. Packing it into the reactor doesn't do anything.

Get some medium diameter tubing with one end in a filter sock in your sump. Start a syphon and pinch the hair algae off your rocks. It will get sucked through the tubing and end up in the sock. Remove the sock and check for anything you want to through back in the tank.
Otherwise the gha will decompose in your tank which could cause problems.
