how do I remove a hairy mushroom

I have a giant green hairy mushroom, when it expands it's about 4+" diameter. I want to remove it from the rock that it's in. anyone have any suggestion?

I say chisel off the rock around the foot of the shroom, so that it is still mounted.

chop off the head with a nice sharp razor, the epoxy over the stump so it doesn't grow back.

I would assume you just want to move the shroom, to a friend's tank maybe. I suggest using a plastic tooth pick. I have these toothpicks with a piece of dental floss at one end. Use the pick end to gently pry the coral off the rock, you have minimum chance of injuring it. Put the coral then on top of a rubble in a calm area and it will mount on the rubble in 2 days.

actually no, the rock it's in in front center of my tank and it's going too big so i just want it remove so i can put other things there, triple red zoas

Chisel works for me. You can do it under water. Just rock the chisel back and forth under the foot and it will come off with a small piece of rock. Done it many many times.
