well i moved a reef both from house to house and from room to room...Number one thing IMO ..DO NOT TOUCH THE SUMP OR SAND BED BEFORE YOU MOVE THE CORAL...
First have a appropriate holding container to fit your liverock and coral...Rubbermaids are the best..make sure that you have heaters and Powerheads for containers with live stuff......Then pull your corals and set them separately from container you intend to keep em for some time... then pull your liverock and put em in the container with your tank water...Remember DO NOT TOUCH THE SAND BED OR SUMP FOR NOW...put rock and tank water add coral. heater ON flow ON...As of now you CAN touch sand or sump..Set the sand rubble rock from sump in to the separate holding heated container with the flow...DO NOT ADD SAND TO THE CORAL/FISH CONTAINER....now move the tank...DO NOT ADD more then 25 % YOUR OLD WATER...make new water ....Hook up everything back...check for leaks ETC...add live rock corals...it is OK to use the water from coral holding container

yes just like grish said. It is just like the way you set it up just in reverse and much faster. Take your time and plan ahead. It will consume your entire day depending on size maybe more. Also a cooler is great to move livestock and keep them stable temps.. Good luck.

Very nice tank. What i have done in the past is to plan ahead .I setup a new tank with saltwater, sand, heater and power heads at the new residence prior to moving. If you decide to take all the livesand put about 2'' in each container with the liverocks.Use as much of the old water as possible and livesand to seed the new.Buy some battery powered air pumps for the livestock container they cost about $12 each.
