How long do:
1)Mollys
2)Plattys
3)Swordtails
4)Guppys
Take from the moment of birth to:
1) Adulthood or can reproduce.
2) Full size.

How long do these fish live (in years).

Just an estimate here so perhaps others can verify or correct.

with red wag platties or guppies, I usually get the first generation at about 1-3 weeks after the adult fish were introduced. (they were already pg). Then about 6 months or so later it is hard to tell parents from the first generation. And the second generation starts showing up. After two years you seem to have a more or less stable population of various sizes and maturities in the system.

Not too long..at least with sword tails..a matter of a few months until they start breeding again(1st generation of birth)

most livebearers can reproduce at about the age of one month-female guppies are born gravid (w/eggs) , males become sexually functional when the gonopodium (the modified fin under the belly, shaped like a stick) becomes fully formed, usually at the age of 3-4 weeks, iirc-i'm fairly certain that other livebearer females are also born gravid-if not, then w/in a month or so, they should be able to reproduce

a 'generation' is anywhere from 3-ish to 6 weeks, depending on temperature, and some livebearers can halt the developement of the embryos mid term

batch sizes range from 40-60 fry on avg for guppies, to sometimes 10-15 for mollies

max lifespans are around 3-4 yrs, w/some longer lived individuals turning up occasionally

hth :D
