How many Hydra 52 for a 36" tank?

Hi all,

The question is: Do I need 1 or 2 Hydra 52 fixtures?
I have my eye on the new Red Sea Reefer set up, the tank is 36" length x 20" depth and 21" height.

If you recommend a better lighting, please feel free to let me know. Price is not an issue, I'm looking for good quality LED light that wouldn't restrict me on the kind of corals I can add to the tank, LPS, SPS ... etc

You would have better results and less restrictions with a 6 build ATI T5 fixture. If you must have LED then either add blue reef brites to it, or get the ATI/LED (which is extremely bright). If you go with the ATI/LED you will likely run LED at very low percentage on a tank this size?. a waste of $$ IMO. If you go with hydra's, definitely 2 of them as Cmantis suggested.

Thanks guys. would you put the 2 Hydra 26 length wise ( side to side) or width wise ( front to back)?
I have not used an Apex controller yet, will these be compatible with the Apex controller?
