Been reading reviews on equipment lately from members and professional reef keepers and i can honestly say it is so hard nowadays to take anyones reviews serious. We have people reviewing equipment after a day of running with things like "Wow this is the best piece of equipment ever and would recommend it to everyone i talk to " Now sure you can be impressed with a piece of equipment after a few hours but should you really write a review on it? Now im reading of someone reviewing another piece of equipment and even though it is a known named company i cant take this guy serious either because he knows the guy by his first name and apologizes to him for not making the review sooner. Now if your at first named basis with a guy that tells me your friends with him and i for one know if my friend made something i cant give a honest review on that mans/womans product. I just dont understand equipment is vital in this hobby can we keep the "best piece of equipment reviews" for a long term review and maybe not review friends,family,life partners invention and save it for a person who really can give a honest review. Its hard enough to find the right piece of equipment for veteran reef hobbyist imagine how a newbie must feel not knowing who is out there to make a buck or a review from someone who really wants to help.
