How to Quarantine Scallops, Clams, etc.?

How do you quarantine a scallop?

It won't carry ich, if I understand correctly, but they can carry other parasites, right?

I read something about scrubbing their shells. Is that a good thing or just one person's trick?

Leave scallops in the ocean, their survival rate is not so good in captivity.

I agree with Brendan.. I've never know of scallops living any longer than a few months. I don't think artificial sea water contains the necessary food product that they consume. As for clams I usually just put them right in. Maybe check to make sure their shells don;t have any aptasias attached.
