Hi everyone.

I just started the leak test of my Closed loop yesterday. I have a panworld 50PX-X rated at 1100gph. I have it bolted to a shelf with 2 pieces of an old mouse pad in between the pump and the shelf. It's still pretty loud. Not necessarily the vibration, but just the humming of the pump itself. So far, my DIY stand has an open back. I wanted air circulation as the front will be closed. I think someone mentioned saltwater proof sound dampner(from mcmastercar) somewhere but I can't find the link again. Any ideas on isolating the CL pump. I have pics on another link. Scroll down on the link to the 2nd and 3rd pics.

Any ideas??? Don't know if the gfriend will be very accepting of the HUMMMMMMMMMMMMM :(

Try placing your hand on the plywood shelf and see if that changes the sound of the hum.

You may need to fasten a cleat to it to stiffen it up a bit.

If its just pump hum then there is nothing to do but surround it with soundproofing.

Len was the one who used it.

I am fairly sure its on McMaster Carr's website...

Thanks guys. There is a very slight amount of vibration due to the shelf. I think I can fix that by putting some of the leftover mouse pad inbetween the wood and the "L" bracket mounts. I'll search around on this site for mcmastercarr and see if I can find that topic Len wrote.
