So I finally bought a cal reactor its an mtc mini cal ,many may say I don't need it and just dose 2 parts .I wanna run the reactor to keep things steady, my tank doent really use up to much cal ,I never really need to add cal to my system .I do water changes and that usually keeps me at around 420 cal .my alk is what usually gets used up ,I usually keep my alk at 9.5. And cal at 420 I have to add about 1 1/2 oiz a day of alk to keep it at 9.5 when seting up the reactor I would think I need a faster drip rate and less bubbles since my demand isn't high, I guess I'm looking for a starting piont any suggestions ?

Hi Charlie

These are some real basic starting numbers.
1) 6 bubbles per minute co2
2) 40 drops per minute effluent ( water going back into the tank from the reactor)
3) Ph coming out of the reactor between 6.3-6.8
4) DKH coming out of the reactor over 25

Again these are some ballpark numbers to get you started, here is a link that I found useful
