The tank is only 15" long, I think this pretty much rules out VHO, and T5. Originally it had 2 24 watt PC's which seems ok but there are not many good replacement bulbs. I took the hood off and used a 70 watt halide for a bit but same issue, there was no good replacement bulbs. I tried the 70 watt ushio 20k and thought it made the tank to white/yellow. I like a bluer looking light.
I just put the PC's bank on but I know when I was using these before my cyphastrea didnt get a nice pop to its background color. The tank is all LPS, chalices, duncans, cyphastrea, lepastrea blastos, favias, and a tiny scoly.
I was thinking of trying a 150 watt MH pendent with a pheonix 14k but dont want to overdue the lighting being I am only growing LPS and its a 9 gal tank. I also have this tank next to my computer so I don't want a pendant that will put glare in my eyes.
Any ideas? I was thinking of maybe some LED lighting also? I dont know.
