Remember wikipedia is not a very trusted source and even that site says it's only a theory ("is thought to have converted ").

I dont want to derail the thread, but it is a well accepted point of view in the scientific community I should know my wife has a PHD in microbial biology. Do some reasearch i just gave a quick link, but i totally understand if you prefer your own point of view.
