Any wave maker that slows down and speeds up but does not stop is supposed to work.. I guess a seio is supposed to work but I do not know anyone who has tried one yet.. They are supposed ot be owrking on one for it also..
to all,
I have been running 2 Hydor 600's on an Ocean Pulse Dual for 2 weeks with out a problem, 2 minutes per Hydor, but at full speed, when they are running. Love those power heads for the price.

Does the Ocean Pulse not turn them off completely. I heard that the hydors would clatter if stopped completely and turned back on again with most wavemakers.

They get turned off completely, they did chatter at first but not any more. The chatter came form the impeller, it would extend on the shaft when it would first start.

Have mine hooked up to a basic Red Sea WM and have no chatter issues.
I do have a concern about the open "basket" design. Has anyone had fish swim into the impeller when the pump was off and then yikes when it switched back on?
With dottybacks and clowns I worry about them swimming in looking for pods.
