Hydroids / Anemones? Help ID Please

Anyone seen these before? They seem almost like transparent polyps with a star shaped head, and are attached to the rock. Apologies for photo quality; taken with a Droid.

I do not know what they are but i do know that they will most likley die off. I have seen them on live rock on two different occasions and they eventually dissapear. so i wouldn't sweat it.

Looks like some kind of Octocorallian, as the "star" has 8 lobes. So, that would make it a soft coral. However, I have never seen such a thing like you have here.

Thanks everyone for the help. I think that Mr. Softy nailed it in a PM to me - they are colonial tunicates.

They changed in appearance very soon after being introduced to the tank, and are now kinda just chilling.
