I got into an accident on my way to MAX2010

Sorta reef-related I was on my way down to OC for MAX 2010 and got side swiped on the freeway. No injuries (except to the cars), but the driver side of my car isn't pretty. The other driver was trying to merge into my lane and I was in her blindspot apparently. I wasn't paying attention to her lane either, so I have some (very small) fault in this. It was freaky and could've been worse.

Gresh knows how little I go to reefkeeping events. This will make me less eager to attend more events

Yeah those SoCal freeways make the freeway issues up here in the SF Bay seem sane, early this year when I was coming back from San Diego I saw two trucks on the freeway one was an 18 wheeler, over on the side of which one was actually facing the wrong way (the bigger truck too) I mean how the hell does that happen if everyone is going straight?

At least your ok. I hate driving out of my normal routine. I lost my drivers license back in Oct for speeding, for a year, so have been driving super cautious since then. 5 more months and Ill be home free. :roll:
Only accident I was in was getting side swiped leaving a Phillies game, ended up being 5k worth of damage and we were only going 15 mph max. The guy moved in my lane and hit my side and it was ruled mutual fault ugg.

Hi Len,

Phew! Glad you're ok. I don't remember the rules in CA, but in TX when two cars try to merge into the same lane at the same, the left-hand car has the right of way. :-( But I don't know how the rule applies when one car is ahead of the other.

In any case, did you make it to MAX? How was it?

The same thing happed to me a few months ago. The insurance called it 50/50 because the other driver would not take fault and it was her word vs. mine.

I didn't make it there because the cop wouldn't let me drive the car without my driver's side mirror. The car is perfectly drivable, but I had wait (and pay) to tow it.

Len the reason this is good to post for me is because everytime I scare myself driving I tend to be very reliable, rather perfect, for all of the next 4 days before someone cuts me off again.

I can fear by proxy for at least another 4 days via your report into realizing again how freakin dangerous cars are and how lucky we are to be alive all the time. glad your a good reactor thats key in defensive moves I hear
