i hav a question on lites

i hav 48" orbit, the regular ones. what size blulb do i get. im going to guess if the fixture is 48" and the blubs or i guess half i should get the 24" i just want to make sure

Meg - can you post a pic..not entirely sure what your question is?

Usually a fixture that is considered 48" - takes bulbs that are 48" and they would be single bulbs that go from one end of the fixture to the other.

There are some fixtures that are a 'measured' 48" long that have 2 (or more) shorter light bulbs that start from either end (those bulbs are shaped like a 'u'. If you have a fixture that takes the 'U' shaped bulb you need to know what the pins on the ends of the bulbs look like.
There are 'straight pin' bulbs and the pins look like this ....
The other type is called 'square pin' and they look like this ::

Just measure the old bulb. It is not 24" I think they are actually like 19".
The entire unit is 48" not just the light up portion if that makes sense
