On a related topic: I once considered trimming the tail of a very mean cichlid I had. He was the fastest and meanest fish in the tank and I figured a little tail trim would probably slow him down. Luckily, it was only a passing thought.
Kind of like pet owners who cut the tails off of dogs and then have thier hair cut and dyed. That is in preperation for the dog show. Maybe declawing cats or nutering pets is perferable?
