I am so amazed to see a coral banded shrimp that lost all his legs and claws during shipment regnerate it after a molt. He had no claws or legs this a few hours ago and BAM! i take a look and everything grew back. Has anyone every caught this on video?

My Banded Coral shrimp had ejected both of his big front claws during a tank move. In my case it was a defense mechanism where they eject them so that the predator (me..yeah right) will hopefully be pleased enough with the limbs to stop chasing the 'rest' of the shrimp so he can make an escape.

After panicing...I watched mine like a hawk day after day to see what, how, when he might grow his legs back ( he was eating & getting around just fine of the remaining legs). I'd finally decided he wasn't going to grow them back...no little stumps, nothing... and them poof, one morning there he was... all intact again.
It still amazes me that they can grow entirely new limbs under their molt (sure that's the wrong term...) and you can see NO indication they are there..not extra lumps, nothing! I've learned to recognize when my BCS is going to molt now and still I see no signs of those new parts..just that he looks a little bit fluffier in the few days preceeding the molt.
Amazing creatures! :)
