I may have left my calcium doser on...

I noticed this morning that I had left it on. I tested last night and calcium was a bit low so I wanted to give it a slight bump. Well, a few bourbons later and I forgot to turn it off. Thankfully my calcium tank is only 16oz and it wasn't completely full.

I did a test and the calc was 720, alk 9.5, mag 1250, salinity 1.026 and pH steady at 8.2. I did a water change today and that brought the calc down to 620, alk all other parameters are the same as noted before. Should I do another water change or will it be fine to let it drop naturally.

Nothing seemed stressed, and to be honest one of my rock flower anemones was opened wider than I have ever seen it before, it was HUGE!!

think should do small water change in few day period . dont stress the corals out too much with big water change

Happened to me I dosed 3/4 " of a gallon Evs cal left doser on also.
Did water changes small ones

Surprised u where able to lower it that quick mine shot up due too mislabeled 2 part I was double dosing cal it did a number on my tank took a long time to get balance back!! I was doing 50% wc and it barely budged the cal best advice I got was to let it come down on its own over time

its hard to overdose with calcium it will mess up your pumps before your creatures

From what I've read you shouldn't drop more then 100 ppm per day so I would do water changes every 3-4 days till its back in line..

This happened to a friend of mine. Since then I have the hose into my calcium jug fit snug and slide it down an inch below the surface and adjust it as calcium is used up.

thats way to much work.... I use a bubble magus doser and really dont worry about it at all
