hey, i built a durso standpipe about a month ago and it was working very good. Yesterday, i notice that it is draining to fast causing a sucking noise and the water level in the overflow is at the bottom of the drain hole. This morning, the overflow would drain untill it started making the sucking noise and then in would completly fill the overflow submerging the standpipe. i haven't done anything different i that i know of and it worked great for a month .
Anybody know whats up with it

I was going to suggest the same exact thing that Big R said but if you already tried that wihtout success then how about giving the whole thing a good cleaning.
I wouldn't imagine that too much crudd would accumilate in a month's time but it's worth a try.
I ended up making two different sized Durso Standpipes with slight modifications to both before I got the right combination.
The main improvement on my second Durso Standpipe attempt was making sure the inlet hole in the drainpipe was a few centimeters higher than the coupling piece that connects the end cap and pvc drainpipe. This allows the coupling piece to act as a hood of sorts which helps reduce air intake.
If I remember correctly this is one of the main tips given in the instructions for the Standpipe on his website.
Good luck,
Brian
