i just tell my wife i could be out at a bar spending money instead, so she really doesn't say much anymore

lol. the difference is that when you're in the bar, the more money you spend, the happier you'll probably feel. thats not the case when it comes to our tanks. :irked:

I got lucky. My girl pays the electric bill and is splitting the electrician costs.
Keeping separate banks accounts has it's advantages.

Yea I tried that too when I started setting up my 200. I stopped after I bought *most* of the equipment, something around 7,000. I decided to just ignore it after that. Some things are definitely not meant to be known

i stopped keeping track after i was half done with my tank and already over my expected budget. It then turns into "i went this far... "

You should have seen the face on my fiancee when i told her how much its gonna cost to restock my tank with fish again after i lost them all a few months back. She doesn't look at the tank the same way.
