I got a yellow tang and had it for about a month. And had ich from the very first day I put it in the tank. I dont have a quarantine system and I know the whole tank has ich but it's only the yellow tang that has it. What should I do. It's still perfectly healthy, and eating but I'd hate to see it die.

There is plenty of information on MR about this.

Search for ICH and learn how to use cupramine medication.

32 drops of cupramine in a 10 gallon fish tank, dripped in over a 48 hour period and follow the rest of the instructions.

Everything else you hear will be a waste of your time but you are free to try feeding vitamin C and singing to your yellow tang while it "fights it off".

Hypo salinity works. It's no quick fix, but it's effective. Ich is awful! I hope you can get rid of yours without losing a lot of fish. Good luck!

Unless you set up a QT tank with cupramine, all you can do is continue feeding and keeping him healthy, and he will naturally fight it off (hopefully).

My tank got hit with ich a few months ago, and it would have been impossible to remove all the fish without a complete teardown. Everything, tangs included, survived by keeping them well fed, and soaking mysis with garlic. Several garlic drops in the tank every 2-3 days also seemed to help keep them wanting to eat. Several small water changes help a bit too.

This has worked for me twice in a 125 gallon tank. Although ich is still in the tank (unseen/dormant?), the fish are much more likely to survive after beating it once. My yellow watchman has gone through several tank outbreaks over the years in 3 different tanks, and never got spots again after surviving the first bout.

This doesn't work so well in a small tank though. I believe volume of water is a big factor.
