I like to know if ick can be transfered through live rock or inverts. I have a tank that may have it which I like to do Hypo on. I was thinking of transfering some LR and inverts (crabs, stars) to my main tank but am concerned the ick can be transferred to it. Any help would be appreciated.

Yes it can. There have actually been a # of people on this board that have brought LR, for someone breaking down a tank, only to have a breakout of ich in their tanks. The spores can settle in and on rocks and once place in your tank infest the tank.

Before placing the LR into you tank you should rinse it off then place it in a bucket with saltwater for a day. Then rinse it off again and place it back into the bucket but completely change the saltwater and clean out the container. If you do this for about a 1 - 2 weeks you should be fine. Or you can leave the LR in a holding container, with saltwater, for 2 - 4 weeks and you should be ok.
