Is there anyone on SI or nearby who can put in an acrylic baffle in a sump I purchased from another member of MR? I need another compartment to put my skimmer in the sump. The piece of acrylic needed would be approximately 17" wide and 10" high. I don't have the acrylic or the necessary tools or weldon. Thanks.

Just go to Home Depot or Lowes- get the acrylic you want(thickness wise)- have them cut it to size- 1/4 inch smaller from front to back so it isnt pressing against the sump and gives it 1/8th of an inch of clearance in both and silicone it in place. Just clean up the surface of the sump VERY well(on the bottom as well)- prep it with alcohol and lay the seems on both sides of the panel, securing it before you do the siliconing so it doesnt move and will set properly. Just make sure you press the silicone in a little so it seals the gap completely. Good luck with it-- also let the silicone set for 48 hours- they say 24 on the tubes but give it 48 to be safe.

I think it was glass warren- well thought it was if it isnt sorry for the silicon idea. This is Warrens and others thing now- I have a glass aqueon I used for my sump so is a different story and I jumped to the conclusion that yours was glass- but you can buy the acrylic there still- just go by Warrens suggestion on what to seal it with. Best of luck with it.
