I read a year ago that by putting a small amount of sugar in your tank it would reduce nitrates by killing off bacteria. But first, it would cause a bacteria bloom.
Now, I have cyanobacteria. What would happen if I add sugar to my tank? Would it cause a cyano bloom or would it eventually kill it off?
By the way, I do not plan on adding sugar to my tank, but I'm curious what you think.
