I have a 24 gallon nano tank, but the tank is not completely covered!!! The glass canopy that came with the Aqua Pod leaves the back or the front uncovered. Also the nano fission skimmer also prevents the tank from being completely covered. I plan to get some pearly jawfish and I don't want them to jump out! Is the galvanized meshing (similar to chicken wire) that is sold at Home Depot O.K. to use to cover the exposed areas on the top of the tank? Is there some thing else that is better? I also like the meshing, because it allows the heat from the metal halide lighting to escape! Please help!! Thank you very much!!

How about plastic gutter guard?
Its only 6" wide, but could be zip tied together if need be.
I don't know how well it will hold up to metal halides, probally depends on how close you are to it.

Either of the 2 suggestions above will be fine for your tank!
Just be sure that if you use the eggcrate you cover it with the fiberglass screening..fish can get through eggcrate but it makes a nice little frame for the screening:)
