I had a condensation problem in my fish room during the winter months. I had to buy a dehumidifier to solve the problem.

The rest of my house was not affected by the tank.

Never in Southern California, where the humidity outside was in the single digit yesterday.

I live in Maryland in a small house. My 37g will evaporate 1/4-1/2g a day. Sometimes my toilet actually drips and makes a puddle on the floor!

My 120 evaps aboout 2-3 gallons a day depending on the season. My bathfan runs near 24/7 removing heat (and moisture) from my 6'x7' laundry/tank room so humidity is not an issue for me.

The biggest sign of too much humidity is moisture forming on the walls. The next, not so obvious sign is mold. Moisture usually condenses on the colder surfaces in the house. This is usually behind furniture and other areas with inadequate ventilation or air movement.

FWIW most people dont know that an average adult expels two cups of moisture into a room in one nights sleep. Times two, equals one quart of water in your bedroom, every night. I have had 70+ Gallon tanks for near 20 years on the west coast and have never had moisture issues anywhere except in my last house. After we had central heat and air installed the problems (mold) behind the dresser went away.

I used to install windows for noise remedy. If the house we were working on didnt have central heat we would have to install a blended air system that mixed the air from the bedrooms to the living room. There IS such a thing as a "too air tight house". Its just one of those little known facts that doesnt mean much to anyone but me. I used to be a magnet for meaningless facts.

Well I dont think that humidity is a crucial factor here. Incidentally I live in a place which is already humid the maximum time of the year so things would have been well evident to me if any such problems were there. But it has been more than five years now and never I had to face any problems. Or can this be due to fluctuating climatic changes frequently?

that is a cool fact, the human moisture thing i mean.
meanwhile, i get about 4-5 gallons evap a day in my apartment, but i don't see any negative effects from it yet. no wet walls, and my couch backs up to a railing, so, no moisture there either.

It will start accumulating on the top side of your baseboard where it will eventually turn to mildew.
