A watermelon chalice is exactly that - pinkish on the inside and green ring on the outside - just like a real watermelon - hence the name.

See Slama's chalice from back in the day - even though it's a little orange in this picture, it's really more like pinkish when it gets more light.

Also, lineage makes a difference. If you know it can be traced, that's the one you should pay for - not like the ones recently popping up that are wild caught, hacked, named and sold as something rare.

1 species of coral might have 1 at most 2 scientific/Latin name depending on the origin, but when it comes to the U.S., it becomes 10-20 names.

today is "Dragon's Bane bubble", next week when it colors up, it'll be Super neon metallic ultra Dragons multi Grape bane big bubble and quote "extremely rare". lol.

so i purchased a purple chalice with a green rim and purple base with neon yellow eyes for a very decent price! but the called it grape watermelon chalice. it looks like a alien eye with a darker purple and the eyes are yellow not neon green. im not sure what the heck it is and i also purchased a melting pot chalice with multi colors and some orange glazed which did originate from dr mac so he says, i also bought some other chalices. i want to post pics but dont have a camera that can capture all the colors. if any one can take opics for me i can greatly appreciate that. just pm me. my tank isnt 100% yet but with time all will comeback. i lost most of my sps and the rest my friend gbothepro is holding for me. yea hes holding the good stuff and he also was around for the bad stuff that was going on with my tank and also has helped me get back on track! he also has help me pick out and has taken me to the good places to get chalices. i have seen so many watermelon chalice i dont even know which one is the real deal
