Is the BM250 a good choice for a 125 Gallon

Heres a quickie. Is the BM250 a good choice for a 125 gallon sps/lps, medium bioload tank? Or is it overkill?

Also, any suggestions of a similiar set-up in the same price range would help.

Not overkill. It's a great choice. I had one on my 120 and it improved my water quality greatly.

Good choice, but if the impeller doesn't start up properly, you can switch to the needlewheel mod cause of the mesh

@Calireef, I tend to agree with your MRC statement which is why im the market to begin with. I currently have a MR4 POS...

I think the mesh creates more air but I do remember have some start up issues with the sicce pumps + mesh as well. Sometimes I would have to blow in the air line to get the pump going. :teeth:

Same thing happens with the ATB skimmers as well....and that's without mesh

I don't think you can go wrong with a skimmer rated for 2-3x your water volume....
