jbj HIQ MH

I was over a friends house that has a 24gal jbj with the hiq 150watt mh, looking at the life in the tank it seem that the light was not putting out the light, I have 150 mh on my tank and thing look good my tank is deeper than the jbj it seemed like all the zoos were streched out trying to get light ans I gave the zoos to him in my tank they are mabye 1/4 inch hight where they are about 3 1/4 in there were mushrooms that liked light starved also, also it didnt seem that the light was putting out alot of heat also with a fully closed cover I expected the tank to be real hot it was just about 80.

the question I have is jbj selling a 150 hiq mh that is realy not 150watts or could the ballist be broken and is not putting out the correct power.
