you can replicate this in your tank to some extent with an empty plastic bottle like ESV or some other flexible container with a neck. Just fill part way and invert in your tank or tub or any pool, etc. Squeeze the bottle quickly and the rush of water and air start the spin action and the rotation keeps the air mixed with the water. It takes some practice but it's very cool. The force that the water is moving with is pretty impressive. The ring can move slowly towards the bottom and when it hits sand goes everywhere.
