I run mine a little different I guess. I'm running a calcium reactor and I use the kalk reactor to balance the low pH you get with the calcium reactor. Through a liter meter I dose 3 liters per day and the calibration is set a 330. I usually add a cup of kalk every two months or so. The liter meter draws from it's own RO/DI reservoir. Does this sound ok or should I be doing it differently?

i also use kalk reactor in conjunction with a calcium reactor. i use the avast k1 stirrer with the ato. i add about a cup every month to 6 weeks (when i see the kalk is less than an inch from the bottom of the reactor body) and clean the reactor every 4-6 months or so. sps dominated with the total volume of about 300 gal.

I also dose kalkwasser in conjunction with Ca2+ reactor. I dump about 1 cup of kalk a week. The vat that feeds the kalk reactor, I dose vinegar, 2 shot glass a night. Hardly ever clean my unit, bc it sits in the sump. (420g display, 60gal sump)

For those that are using calcium reactor along with the kalk, I recommend that you keep the affluent to the calcium reactor as far as possible from where you are dripping kalkwasser. otherwise the kalk is going to elevate the pH of the water that feeds the calcium reactor, and that means you would have to feed extra CO2 to your reactor to lower the pH. As for me, I feed my affluent from the main display tank.
