If you run a kalkwasser reactor do you have to replace the media or just add to it ?

I usually just add to it. Every 6 months or so I take it apart, replace the tubing and start fresh.

I'm noticing it got clumpy and my ph seemed lower than usual. Maybe I should add some more fresh media
